2012 Awards IBAO has hosted this provincial industry recognition event for the past four years. We are delighted to continue in the tradition of awarding and showcasing the remarkable accomplishments of our members, in four diverse categories:

Award Winner Announcements
The 2012 5th Annual Awards Gala will be held during our 92nd Annual Convention at the Banquet & Ball on Friday, October 19 at The Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

Full details of the selection process, procedures and promotions are explained below.

Selection Process

An independent Selection Committee appointed by IBAO will review all nominations received and select those that meet the criteria.
Selected nominations will be forwarded to Suzanne Sharma, Associate Editor - Canadian Insurance Top Broker.
Suzanne Sharma will set interview date and time with only selected nominees, and conduct interviews with each selected candidate. Interview questions are pre-determined by IBAO. Interviews will be conducted in August.
Completed interviews will be returned to IBAO.
The independent Selection Committee will choose 3 finalists and winner for each category.
The Selection Committee reviews all nominations and is comprised of non-industry representatives. Nominations are rated based on the nomination criteria. The committee may contact nominees, nominators and supporters to confirm information. Award recipients must be able to attend the Awards of Excellence Gala during IBAO’s 92nd Annual Convention on Friday, October 19th, 2012 in Toronto.

Only selected nominees in each category will be contacted by Canadian Insurance Top Broker magazine by August to schedule their initial interview.

Procedure

All of the duly completed documents must be received at the address indicated below no later than June 29th, 2012
In September, the Selection Committee will assess the interviews completed by Suzanne Sharma, Associate Editor - Canadian Insurance Top Broker and choose three finalists per category. The winner of the “Award of Excellence” will be chosen from among these finalists.
The three finalists will each receive 2 complimentary tickets to the Awards of Excellence Gala on Friday, October 19th, 2012 in Toronto.

Promotion

The 3 finalists from each category will be showcased in the October issue (will be available during convention) of Canadian Insurance Top Broker magazine.
The winner of the “Young Broker of the Year” category will be announced during the Awards of Excellence Gala on Friday, October 19th, 2012 in Toronto, along with all of the other award category winners.
A front cover and feature spread in The Ontario Broker magazine.
