Managing Conflict (AM)
Conflict is an inescapable reality!  Day-to-day conflict can be deadly.  It ‘grinds’ people down, stresses relationships, creates distrust and reduces effectiveness.  Costs go up, and quality goes down as the focus shifts from business goals to managing testy relationships.  Rapid change, along with constant pressure to improve effectiveness, has increased conflict in most organizations.

This program is designed to assist managers and leaders to effectively reduce unproductive conflict, and promote potentially positive outcomes from conflict.

Program Outcomes:
  • Understand the nature and impact of conflict
  • Identify the causes of personal and organizational conflict
  • Manage and resolve conflict using a Problem Solving Process
  • Create a climate where conflict can be managed effectively and productively

Recommended For: Any level of management (Supervisors, Managers, Principals)

Managing Reactions to Change (PM)
Change, change and more change!  It never seems to stop!  And worse, the pace is accelerating!  Change is continuous.  The ever changing technologies of the 21st Century are intensifying the pace and challenging businesses and people to manage change.  Change brings opportunities to bring rewards, but it also can be very disruptive.  And at times, change pushes our personal stress levels to the limit!

Change is complex and at times emotional.  People who experience difficulty coping with ambiguity find the uncertainty and anxiety of change stressful.  On the other hand, people with low needs for structure and routine enjoy the thrill and adventure of change.  Clearly we cannot insulate ourselves from change.  The choice often is change or be changed!  Our only option is to exploit and manage change effectively!

Program Outcomes:
  • Understand the nature of change, the anxiety and fears associated with change, and the change process
  • Develop skills in preparing for change, and capitalize on the positive and negative aspects of resistance to change
  • Create adaptable organizations where change is a positive value, and flexibility and risk taking is rewarded

Recommended For: Any level of management (Supervisors, Managers, Principals)
