BBC Top Student Award
IBAO presents annual awards to top member students from each scheduled Basic Broker Course offered in the calendar year. This $250 award is presented at our Annual Convention in October to the student with the highest overall mark.
CAIB Top Student Award
The IBAO presents an award annually to the member graduate with the highest overall average without any failures. The recipient of this award must obtain an overall average of 85% or higher. The award determination is made by September 20th each year. This $1,000 award is presented at our Annual Convention in October.
Young Brokers Council Scholarship
Introduced in 2009, this Young Broker Council branded scholarship is available to a full time student in an Ontario Business Insurance Program at an accredited post secondary institution (college or university including Wilfred Laurier University). This $2500 scholarship will be awarded once annually at the IBAO Convention. Focus will be on candidates interested in working in the insurance industry. In addition, candidates will be ranked according to their academic standing (transcript required), community service and extra curricular activities / achievements.
IBAO Past President's Scholarship
Introduced in 2009, the IBAO Past President’s scholarship is available to a student enrolled in an accredited post secondary institution (college or university, no geographic limitation). The student must be the child of a full member (not affinity member) of IBAO. This $2500 scholarship will be awarded once annually at the IBAO Convention. Focus will be on candidates interested in working in the insurance industry. In addition, candidates will be ranked according to their academic standing (transcript required), community service and extra curricular activities / achievements.
Brian Greenslade Scholarship Award
Introduced in 2001, Ontario students are invited to apply for the Brian Greenslade Scholarship Award administered by IBAO.
Upon Brian Greenslade’s retirement, the Brian Greenslade Trust Fund was established by a group of Pilot brokers recognizing the contributions Mr. Greenslade made during his many years as President of Pilot Insurance Company.
This $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a university or college student with a minimum of two years (second year) enrollment in an insurance or business management / economics program whose RIBO licensed parent is employed in a Pilot Insurance brokerage. The award is based on scholastic standing, community involvement and the desire to work in the insurance industry upon completion of their studies. A preference will be given to students with prior insurance work experience (i.e. part-time, contract, summer, etc).
IBAO will evaluate all submissions and through the IBAO Selection Committee, award the scholarship to the successful applicant at our Annual Convention in October.
Applications must be received by IBAO no later than August 31st of each year.
